Out of interest I had a look at the Nørrona site to see how much that cost and its a good job I was sitting down at the time!
I would want the orange colour even if it does make me look like someone who has fallen off a boat
I wear the Norrona green pants but even I would struggle with that! The outfit has a certain HazMat quality to it.I would want the orange colour even if it does make me look like someone who has fallen off a boat

Let me assure you I'm completely breaking the law regarding skiing level and awesomeness of gear!
It's kind of funny regarding the only experts wear onesies rule, as in reality it's best for new people as they're they ones falling over the most!KTF said:

It's expensive but great quality. It's also best to buy at the end of season when you can often get 40-50% off. NorthDave said:

I'm going skiing for the first time in 3 weeks. Arinsal, Andorra.
Really looking forward to it, had my first dry slope lesson last weekend
You're in for a treat mate! Maybe a tad frustrating as you're finding your feet but there is nothing better then swishing down the mountain in the sun, stopping for the odd cold beer or mulled wine if it's cold Really looking forward to it, had my first dry slope lesson last weekend

I think it will be supremely comfortable though, warmer and drier with less bulk. And it's pretty cool!

It was a close call between the orange one and the blue/green, but as an average strictly on-piste skier I thought I'd look enough of a prat in the less flashy suit!

It's not very warm in that it's not insulated - but it stops any wind. It is a thicker gore-tex that most out there, and so it should last a very long time. I have "sliced" the non-armoured bit of the trousers in a fall with my ski edge and you saw nothing afterwards. The actual reinforced bit could probably survive a bomb, I've had mine for 2 years and it looks as good as new apart from the "grass" stains from hitting trees and using it for walking up mountains to get to the snow in summer. I've used it when skiing on days where it's been raining all day and never got wet so that is not an issue either. It's quite heavy for a shell, and a bit noisy, but I love it (the bib equivalent).I think it will be supremely comfortable though, warmer and drier with less bulk. And it's pretty cool!

I prefer the more understated colour scheme! I would want the orange colour even if it does make me look like someone who has fallen off a boat

The southern Italian, French and Swiss Alps are going to get blasted with 50-100cm of localised snowfall this Monday and Tuesday. Zermatt, Val d'Isere and Sestriere are right in the line of fire. Conditions in a handful of resorts are going to be epic for Xmas.

There are roughly 500 ski resorts within 3hrs of Innsbruck. Almost endless choice if you go in Jan or Feb when the snow is good.Seefeld is beautiful, but it is a tiny ski area. A good skier will ski it out in a day. Beginners could do a week, at a stretch.
Seefeld has had a terrible start to the season this year. Little snowfall, lots of green fields, and less than 40% of lifts open today.

Other options to look at from Innsbruck include Mayrhofen (easy to get to), Soelden (glacier for guaranteed snow), and Kitzbuehel (pretty and more exciting).
