I'll be devastated if I don't get any sun or even some good visibility as the views are spectacular.
As a ski resort the views in VT are pretty mundane IMO. Great skiing though, had a wonderful week in the sun last Easter!
mega skiing best ive ever enjoyed

but the town is like a mining colony on the moon

Off to Bansko for an end of season weekend in late March. Any recommendations for transferring from Sofia?

Thanks!

There's snow. £1500 for 4 people all in including the return flights, accommodation at a thermal spa, b&b and evening meal, ski passes and hire car (Focus estate) for the week.

Yeah, booked all the bits and bobs separately, got a great deal on the accommodation inclusive of ski passes through an agency in Serbia. Slightly antisocial return flight time with Ryanscare to Stansted, flying in and out of Italian airports Trieste & Treviso, but hey ho, it's only a 90 minute drive from airport to the slopes. Bit of thinking outside the box and a fortune can be saved.

Used to go to Kranjska Gora and really loved it but the skiing became a bit repetitive and it looks like Krvavec has only an extra 10k. Still I'd rather go to Slovenia than Bulgaria any time

Yes, an advanced/adventurous skier would quickly bore, but for a young family or a weekend break it's great.

A friend did that a while ago and would never return - grass slopes spent week in the bar and it put him off skiing for good as it turns out

Just back from 4 days in Grindelwald via Munich for tuesday and wednesday. Pistes were fine, but bare in patches with a few of the main routes still closed due to lack of snow.

Had a good dump on Sunday night through to Monday tho, and ended up with knee to thigh deep powder in the off piste areas, and about 6 inches of fresh on prepared bases on piste on Monday.

Off to Avoriaz for half term tomorrow. The promised metre of snow that was due to fall this week seems not to have appeared although conditions do look better.

Fingers crossed it'll be more than just piste work this time

Was in Avoriaz on Monday and Tupesday; it was snowing like a pig.
Les Gets has had a hug amount and having spent yesterday and today there, I can assure you, there is more than ample. Loads of powder still laying around.
Back up to Avoriaz tomorrow, to check it out.

That's cheap. Small resort though but as you say not bad for learning.

I did a week in Tignes in January and I think it was the best weeks conditions I have had to date, the only drawback was the cold but we had 6 days of sun and the snow conditions were perfect.
