I'm heading to Kaprun Austria in a weeks time, I've never been to Austria before, i have only done the French Alps, Anyone have any experience with the area? Piste's ok? Lifts run smoothly and not packed etc??
Just trying to get any advice so i know what to expect, as it was a family member who i'm travelling with has organised it all.
Cheers!
Have been to Kaprun a few times and dont recall any issues. Its a bit featureless at the top and can be interesting if the wind picks up but the views are good. Get the free bus over to Zell (more tree lined, nice village) that runs between both resorts as the lift pass works in both.Just trying to get any advice so i know what to expect, as it was a family member who i'm travelling with has organised it all.
Cheers!

only been to kaprun for 1 day, but been to zell am see twice. All I remember from my day kaprun was that its quite compact. but remember its pretty high at the top! when we had lunch at the restaurant at the top a few of my group complained of sore heads and think it was the altitude! Just trying to get any advice so i know what to expect, as it was a family member who i'm travelling with has organised it all.

well worth getting the bus down to zell am see for a day or 2 though. there was more runs and a bigger area over there. don't know what time the ski busses run till, but zell has some very fun après as its a proper town with a ski hill beside.
Megeve in 2 weeks. Was actually worried about going so late as its not very high, but it seems the snow has come late and if we'd have gone earlier we'd have been disappointed.
Forecast suggest a fair amount of snow over the next couple of weeks, so should be great. Cannot wait. After years of going every year, I haven't skied for 2 years as the Mrs did a cruciate last time out, and hasn't fancied it.

Do you have the baggage allowance for under sheets duvets pillows?
Isn't VT a top end ski resort?
Back from the 3V, it was a good trip but think will look elsewhere for next year. Prices seem to be on the up, and qualtiy seems to be down.
Weather was a mixed bag this year, and on a couple of the days the pistes didn't look like they'd seem a piste basher in quite a while with a tonne of moguls.

Well, it's just the covers/fitted sheets we had to bring. It's not great but the location is brilliant (ski in/out), left if too late to book! Do you have the baggage allowance for under sheets duvets pillows?

Fantastic morning with excellent conditions!

Just back from Riksgrensen and Bjorkliden in Sweden for a long weekend. Not the greatest conditions, so we spent a lot of it traversing out into the more remote off-piste areas to get better condition. Today we then did a rando tur and had much nicer snow so then walked back up and repeated it again,

Where is great in the U.K. (south) to practice ?
There are indoor ski slopes at Hemel Hempsted and Milton Keynes....daft that the only two near London are half an hour from each other but they're both busy! How many runs/what sort of gradient do you get (guessing mild Green runs equivalent)
