Glasses of fizz and poncey cocktails! Fine for the ladies, but what about real ale or craft beer pubs for the men? biggrinwink
Every other bar in Leeds is a craft beer pub these days isn't it?

It wasn't pretty but it were grand.
Were your dad a great baker?

Seriously, since M&B Radio went there's nothing left, may as well nuke it from space.

New Penny, General Elliott, the Duncan for pubs
And then on to the Viaduct?
Finest pub in Leeds city centre is the Angel, off Briggate.
Assuming you can find it

not quite as good as it used to be in the days of elderly waitresses, massive mixed grills and Youngers No3, but still worth a visit.

See also the Pack Horse and Whitelocks. Tough to find though, I know where they are and usually end up going round again, having gone down the wrong alley.

The Palace is a good pub, near the bus station. Traditional city centre Victorian boozer. As others have said there are a million and one craft ale pubs. North Bar is good, the brewery is in Kirkstall, near where I used to live. The Bridge Inn, Kirkstall, used to be my local. That was after they shut The Ancestor, which was one of the rougher pubs it's ever been my pleasure to avoid.

Touristy stuff is as others say, Armouries, Temple Newsam, Roundhay Park and associated stuff, or leave town for York, Sculpture Park, Ilkley, Otley Chevin etc. Oh, the art gallery is rather good. Henry Moore and all that.

Ok, went there at the weekend. Leeds was nice, a good mix of old and new buildings and plenty of drinking/eating places. We went to York for a day which was lovely and visited the sculpture park (WTF?) on the way back. All in all a very nice weekend! smile
