Leeds - what to do and where to go

Finest pub in Leeds city centre is the Angel, off Briggate.
Assuming you can find it
See also the Pack Horse and Whitelocks. Tough to find though, I know where they are and usually end up going round again, having gone down the wrong alley.Assuming you can find it
The Palace is a good pub, near the bus station. Traditional city centre Victorian boozer. As others have said there are a million and one craft ale pubs. North Bar is good, the brewery is in Kirkstall, near where I used to live. The Bridge Inn, Kirkstall, used to be my local. That was after they shut The Ancestor, which was one of the rougher pubs it's ever been my pleasure to avoid.
Touristy stuff is as others say, Armouries, Temple Newsam, Roundhay Park and associated stuff, or leave town for York, Sculpture Park, Ilkley, Otley Chevin etc. Oh, the art gallery is rather good. Henry Moore and all that.
