You're literally just a handful of miles away, but the wrong lake. Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid) is natural, not a reservoir...
Ah, was thinking as level was raised up artificially for a better canal supply, by Telford I think, it might be classed as man made!So is it Llyn Celyn, that is formed by a dam but must confess I had to look on a map!

It is indeed. The building is the memorial chapel for the lost village of Capel Celyn, one of the last Welsh-only speaking communities, drowned in 1965 when the Tryweryn Valley was flooded to form the Llyn Celyn reservoir, providing water to Liverpool. This prompted the formation of Welsh nationalist organizations like MAC, responsible for arson/bombings in the 1960's. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mudiad_Amddiffyn_Cym...
The memorial chapel is a strange spot. It's well hidden from the road. No signs indicate it's presence, no 'interpretation boards' tell the story, just a grassy track heading towards the reservoir at one end of a layby, and the collection of rescued gravestones from the original chapel arranged behind it.
Kenty, Over to you...
