Given that you've been to Cahors, I thought you'd be the one to get it.
It is indeed the Gouffre de Padirac.
probably on the same trip! been to Cahors many times but only once to Padirac, but a lovely place, gondolier along an underground river/lake is something unusual and memorable. It is indeed the Gouffre de Padirac.
Back in a sec with another one; time to move on from France after 3 in a row.... but where....
The reason I googled Cahors was that I bumped into the chap who sits next to me at work at Brive airport (a runway and a portacabin, basically) a couple of weeks ago.
We knew we were both going to France but had no idea where the other was staying. He was only there because he was meeting someone off the same flight. He was in Cahors and I was near Sarlat. We both did the Gouffre and a couple of other things.

It's one of the temples on the Yangtze in China but I have no idea what it's called!
Yep - Shibaozhai. Built up the side of a rock. When we visited, it was a short walk from the river, now with the water level behind the dam being higher they have built a wall round it, so now an island. llewop said:

Yes - tour of the usual suspects (Bejing, Xuan, Shanghai, Hong Kong) plus 3 days from Chongqing to the dam on the river & GuilinTry this:

We did it some years ago when the water level had risen, but not fully, so for instance top lock at the dam wasn't needed.
Tip for the Great Wall if you go; try to go to a less touristy section, much better views and not so crowded.
