Thomson free kids places 2017 advice

We booked this years holiday to Turkey through Thomson last May as there were plenty of hotels with free kids places. This was a month after the holidays were released.

The 2017 holidays came on sale last thursday 21st and quite a lot had free kids places. Suddenly yesterday all the free kids places had gone and the room types were different with better quality rooms available but a lot dearer.

Can anyone with experience advise me as to whether the kids free ones are likely to come back on again or is that basically it now for deals and we've missed the boat?

Don't know how it works now but I did some work on the Horizon Holidays reservation system (just before they were taken over by Thompsons). The holidays with child places were opened up to be accessed by "certain" agents before the system was opened for general sale to all agents the next day resulting in most of the holidays being taken up by people in the know. Because of that there was little chance of grabbing one unless you were friendly with one of the favoured agents.

Some of the holidays listed on their website increase from the price displayed when you try to book it

Example £6421 for 6 people all inc next summer comes up and when you click on continue it says your holiday has gone up in price £1600 since you logged onto the site (1 min later!)

The bloke in the call centre said they monitor traffic on hotels and just bump the prices up !
