Just booked a cheeky week in Cephalonia, flying out tomorrow.

We've not been to Greece for a fair few years, so apologies if this is a naive question, but since their economic problems is their a suggestion for what currency to take?

I.e. Euros as normal for a Eurozone place, or do they prefer GBP for some strange reason?

TBH we usually pay wherever we can on cards, so is this still an appropriate option.

As I say, apologies if it is a daft question.

Euros. They need them to pay their staff and suppliers.

OK ta. I assume the cash dispensers and banks out there have plenty of banknotes?

It's just as lovely as we remember. First came in '92, then every year for about 6 years. Last our here 10 years ago.

Them God, not much has changed.

Crete last Summer, €60/day limit for locals, I could withdraw what I wanted -......- assuming the ATM had money in it. Not all did.
Take € with you.

Deffo take plenty of euros cash. Trying to pay by card instead of cash is about as welcome as taking a dump on their doorstep.
