Ah didn't realise! We went back in 2010.

Glad to hear it still a fabulous place, hope to return someday.

If you go Jan-April 2017 then Qatar Airways are currently doing Business Class returns for approx £1000....
eek

Can't believe I missed that one! Jeez, I am really out of touch! Cant book it now for love nor money! Well, unless once wants to pay the £4k plus, which is more expensive than Emirates business class for straight into Christchurch.

Well done for bagging those seats! Did a return to Christchurch with BA for £168 each abut 10 years ago (cattle, obvs). Schaweet!

While we're on Veligandu pics, Veligandu sunset from our water bungalow:

We`re going in September for just under 3 weeks ! We went to the Maldives for our Honeymoon and always said we`d go back for our 25th Wedding anniversary smile. Couldn`t decide between the DWB or the DBB so we`re splitting it 50/50.

Puggit, I`d heard the West side is windier compared to the East, but the Sunset view obviously appeals. How windy was it ?

Stayed on both sides - can't remember any wind issues. Apart from we arrived during a tropical storm and the seaplane transfer was pretty intense!

That`ll do for me ! Thanks.

Yeah, I`d heard the Seaplane rides can be `interesting` in bad weather...eek

We stayed on the west side. Other than the wife, absolutely no wind issues.
