Hi

We are considering a family ( 2 adults 2 kids 4 and 14) road trip camping in the Catalonia area of Spain during kids summer holidays. Apart from booking the Eurotunnel crossing we were hoping to drive and stay were we fancied but having the two kids is a bit worrying i.e. driving round late at night looking for some were to stay. I would imagine hotels around Eurotunnel and through France should be no problem but is it feasible to expect to turn up at a campsite or hotel if needed in the Catalonia area of Spain. Also Southern France is a option if anyone has any experience of there. Thanks

Mick

La franc, calella de Palafrugell on the western coast has excellent caravan sites and and many of them allow camping. Lovely old towns with frequent night markets. Some sites are top notch.

Mick try the la siesta website in palafrugella. We only used the caravans and they were excellent as was the site so enquire about camping facilities. There are a few nearby. For the caravans booking in advance was essential.

Very wealthy area with house prices to rival London in some parts.
