My parents left for a caravan site near the Lost Gardens of Heligan on Saturday just gone. Left Cheshire at 7.45am and only arrived at 3.15pm. Apparently got stuck in traffic on the A30 near Bodmin. Are they putting in a dual carriageway or something?
Yes. Due to be completed in Spring 2017. https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/transport-and-streets/...
They disappeared just before summer

You're not far from Harrowbarrow, then! Small world!
I'm in Harrowbarrow, Ross, but your profile says Sussex.Rosscow said:
Blimey, really small world! I am indeed in East Sussex, but my wife's grandparents live in Harrowbarrow and we go down a couple of times a year! Where abouts in the village?
"Mine road", as the locals call it, near the old mine and the Stamps industrial estate and the storage container yard. Is that anywhere near your relatives?Edited by driverrob on Wednesday 6th July 23:12

Is that anywhere near you relatives? They have about 15 acres of land and the driveway to their cottage is bang opposite the car park for the village hall (next door to the primary school). They live right at the end of the driveway.

I know where you are (and have been to the old mine before!).

That's almost a shared driveway on a track we sometimes walk our dog on - goes back up to the beehive company's place. How the hell do they cope with that much land? They have about 15 acres of land and the driveway to their cottage is bang opposite the car park for the village hall (next door to the primary school). It would be nice to see you (for a drink or whatever) next time you're down.
Yep, there's a few footpaths that run across and down their driveway.
Yeah, it's hard work for them and it isn't getting any easier with age!
My wife's uncle lives there as well, and they have lots of machinery but never enough hours in the day.
Cracking spot though with the stream running right down through their land.
Sounds like a plan - I often walk down the lane to Metherell and have a pint or two in the Carpenters Arms!
