When do late deals become late deals?
Discussion
Looking to book to go back to Turkey again at the beginning of Sept. The hotel we went to last year which was great is currently marginally cheaper than we paid last year with both Thomas cook and thomson however I would have hoped that it will fall a good bit more seeing as people are allegedly shunning turkey this year.
Its now about 10 weeks to when I'm wanting to travel. When do late deals become actual deals? I have been keeping an eye on the prices for a bit and they seem to go up on a weekend and come down a bit mid week.

Holiday companies have, as a whole, moved away from the concept of late deals in large quantities. They want the money in the bank and bums on seats so that they can plan for the flights, hotel rooms and the staff required to service them. Last minute bookings result in both financial and resourcing uncertainty.
Booking early is the new 'last minute' IMO. I'm sure that there will be some deals around, but I'm also sure that they'll be far more scarce than they used to be; you may even find that prices increase as you approach your planned departure date.
I didn't answer your question at all. No thanks required.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean?
We booked 2 weeks ago. Up until the point we'd booked I was keeping an eye on prices for around a week. We ended up paying fifty pounds more than the cheapest price that I originally saw it at. So 2 weeks before the travel date it's gone up in price pushthebutton said:

Booking early also gives you the benefit of choice for flights, hotel and any excursions you want to do. Booking early is the new 'last minute' IMO. I work in projects and generally speaking doing this last minute always costs more.
