I've had my Briggs & Riley suitcase (good for 2 weeks holiday) for 15 years plus, been everywhere and probably chucked about quite a bit. Still looks brand new. Capacious and well designed interior and good external fittings too. Expensive, maybe. Comes with a no quibble life time guarantee.

We've had our Briggs & Riley suitcase (2 wheeler, expandable) for a few years and it's great. Bought it because it's well built and comes with a lifetime warranty.

Reading a few of the posts above, it does have zippers, so that's a downside.

We have some delsey bags that are brilliant. Solid back trolley case but soft front, fold over style bag. Big, heavy duty zips and comfortable straps if needed. Also have a big delsey duffle which folds down to almost nothing which we use with it for family holidays, again been no problems and that's nearly 6 years old now.

Also bought a mountain equipment duffle bag like the north face one someone posted earlier, mainly for camping as its more weather proof. Blacks often have them on offer so a good bit cheaper than north face, but it's not the most comfortable strap in the world!
