Hello,

Unexpectedly I have next week off, with a £1000 budget for 2 adults, Monday - Friday where would you go?

We're both in our 30's, not a fan of clubbing holidays but apart from that, we're open to suggestions.

Thanks

If you don't mind a 5 hour drive from Calais to Bonn, Germany, I would recommend: http://www.rheinhoteldreesen.de/en/hotel-bonn

I go there regularly to chill out. It's on the banks of the Rhine. Secure underground parking. Good for walking, hired biking and all the touristy things if you want that. The staff are great and super 4 star service.

Check weather forecast. Go where is good weather and does what you want. Currently, that looks like spain - the rest of europe looks wet. You could go further afield, but for a week?

If spain, Mojacar Pueblo is great if you like quiet / relaxed / spanish with the normal resort st a very short drive / long walk away.

This, we love Croatia and are off there again next month

We like the island of Brac off split - easily done inside the budget (ours next month is setting us back £230pp inc. hire car)

Island is chilled and popular with the yacht type so no crazy partying but some good night time pubs for late drinks- Krka lakes on the mainland and split old town make good day trips

Another +1 for Croatia. Sailing round the islands or just chilling along the coast. Perfect.

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestions, we couldn't find any good last minute deals for Croatia but it's now on the to do list.

Anyway, we're off to Bruges for a few days.

If you can extend your stay go to ghent. Fantastic place to spend a day or two. Think its the Marriott which over like oks the canal and has a decent secure car park, i went in slowly but got an elise in the underground car park.

Ghent does look nice. I'll bookmark the Marriott hotel for future consideration.

If you mean a Lotus Elise in the car park, that implies too tight for say a Mercedes C class saloon?

No sorry the elise comment was supposed to show angle of entry is shallow, and that low cars should be fine. As this can be an issue with a lot of underground carparks. The Merc will be fine.

I knew what i meant why didnt you!

If you play tennis, Wickwoods in Sussex. Play some social, get some coaching, have some spa treatment and enjoy the spa facilities plus eat in their restaurant.
