Japan - International driving permit

Quick question, am I right in thinking I need an IDP when I go to Japan in a couple of months? And is so where do I get one?

Yes, you need an IDP for Japan,

Can apply with the AA and RAC I think, but the way I do is to go to the Post Office.

Only certain ones can do it there and then, check PO online pretty much all the 'big' ones can. You take some passport photos, your licence and pay £20 ish and it's done there and then, simples

I got one last year ,popped into a large post office and payed £5.50 and that lasts a whole year.
Go online to find out which post office branch near you that offers this service .
