Hey all we've booked the honeymoon!

I've always wanted to visit Angkor Wat and 'er indoors has always wanted to go see some Elephants (no puns needed!)

So we have booked:

- Fly to Siem Reap via Singapore - Singapore Airlines
- 3 Nights in Siem Reap, with a trip & Guide to the Temples
- Fly to Phuket and stay 1 night
- Get picked up early doors (hence the 1 night in Phuket) to go to the Elephant Hills luxury tented camp to see some Elephants funnily enough!
- 2 Nights here before being dropped off in Khao Lak for 7 nights in a 5 star hotel/beach front bungalow
- On way back stop in Singapore for 2 days (1 Night)

So whilst a lot of things are set out for us, just wondering what things were a must see along the way?

Normally I'd do this sort of thing myself, i.e. book flights and accommodation either some in advance and wing it the rest of the way

But as its the Honeymoon we wanted to have some degree of not thinking about it too much and it's mostly all organised for us

Only down side is have to wait until May to go....

Rather jealous of you going to Khao Sok national park, regret not visiting it while in Thailand as it looks stunning!

Thats a fair amount of travelling in 15 nights (i did the same in 5 weeks with 24 hours in KL thrown in) so would probably plan on doing sweet FA while in Khao Lak and having some chill time

Sunrise at Angkor Wat is a must IMO, the pond on the left gets very crowded as it is full of lily pads that open up at sunrise and its truly stunning, the grounds and temple itself are huge so expect to be here for atleast a few hours.

Visit the landmine museum, its only small but was setup by a former child soldier during the Khmer Rouge and is now trying to clear Cambodia of landmines, the mini stories make for fascinating reading. Before/after ask to go to Prasat Banteay Srei temple as its not far and the detail is beautiful. Expect to see extreme poverty in the countryside between the 2.

I hope you like spiders

Spend some time in Siem Reap, its an interesting place to people watch drinking very cheap beer and look at the local art and craft, there are 2 temples within walking distance if your not bored of them by that stage

We had a heavy few weeks in Thailand before Singapore so didn't do a great deal but the botanic gardens are well worth a look and i would also recommend visiting somewhere like Maxwell's hawker centre for good cheap local food, beer here is also very cheap. My parents ate here after a few hotel staff recommended it

Boat Quay was a nice place to just stroll about and have a few beers, Clarke Quay is the main touristy area and expensive but pleasant enough

Thanks for the reply!

I think we kinda knew the first week or so would be a little hectic to get from Cambodia to Khao Lak (Via the national park)

But the week in Khao Lak doing sweet fa should make up for it!
