Do Virgin flights and lounge have a "free bar"
Discussion
Just don't expect the bar onboard to be like a small version of the The Connaught.
If you want a cocktail, you'll probably have to explain how to make it (or just order the constituent parts and mix it in your glass/mouth).
This is no criticism of Virgin crew, as they continue to be much more friendly and helpful than the vast majority of the competition.

Hi Bristol sparks,
Get yourself onto the v-flyer website - plenty of useful trip reports, and people whom can answer any question you may have.
I've never flown from Gatwick with Virgin, but use the LHR clubhouse a couple of times a year. Last time spent about 3hrs getting blatted before even getting in the plane ... We're I then kept myself topped up with couple of glasses of champagne before takeoff, dinner ordered, then to the bar for a few hrs, then dinner (lovely Malbec from the 6 wines on offer, plus an aperitif of a couple of Gin and tonics) .... Port with the cheese course, and a post dinner Amarula Liquer.
As you can imagine I was in no state to drive , so always pick the car up the next day,- also you'll find car hire away from the airport is probably significantly cheaper !!!

The Virgin lounge is very nice, I have had the pleasure twice. The first time with air miles, the second time I willingly paid £60 to get in.
Currently sat in the Emirates lounge...
You can pay to get in? Best lounge I've been in by far. Worth getting there extra early. Currently sat in the Emirates lounge...

I dont know why im bothering to reply to this, but:Mmmmmm thinks it might be half term, never been to London, have you ever been in an aircraft! LOL
1: i spent £30K last year on a Virgin Amex card, which at 4 Airmiles to the pound = 120,000 Airmile points.
2: i did not realise it was a requirement to have visited London?
3: i have been on several Easyjet flights, where there was not a free bar, onboard drinks had to be paid for.
