barbados - eating and drinking
Discussion
Massey's is a decent supermarket. Should be one near you. http://massystores.com/bb/locations.html
Chefette is good for mid week fast eat. Do a thing called a roti that's good. Curry beef or chicken in a wrap. Also visit the BBQ barn attached to a couple of the chefettes. One at rockley on the south coast and I think there is a west coast one too.
South coast Berts Bar does good food. Pizza etc. It's a sports bar so good for mid week
Loads of decent restaurants around; on the south coast champers is good, loads on the west coast. Fish pot is good. St Laurence gap has quite a few. Oistins fish fry on a Friday night is good.

Good advice so far.
Rum is cheap and the local brew banks very good.
During the week you'll see ladies with vans parked up at various places selling hot food out of the back. It's what we would call a Sunday roast, typically chicken. These meals are excellent and well priced. The good ones sell out before midday.
Fresh fish is easy to buy from Oistins and they will fillet it to your requirements. You buy the fish from one guy and another fillets it for a tip. There are also veg stalls there.
If you want a fancy meal champers is hard to beat.
Being ph it's worth noting the island is keen on motorsport so look it for rallies or events at bushy park.

There's a decent supermarket in Holetown. It's not that visible from the main road as its at the back of a small shopping mall called West Mall. We used for everything when we stay self-catering up the road at Royal Westmoreland. Walking distance from the mall and going north and on the other side of the road is a small cluster of restaurants.
Champers is great - I've booked for 4 weeks time on my birthday.
St Laurence Gap has a Mexican restaurant at the entrance with great cocktail offers.
Oistins of course - if you fancy a quiet time avoid Friday which is like 'speed eating'. Depends what mood you're in.
Tapas is >fabulous< on the boardwalk a mile along from Champers.
The Cliff I will try but hear mixed reviews about it being overrated.
