When I was working in Coventry a while back, I discovered that the best thing to do was to stay in Birmingham centre. Coventry would be best served by the Germans coming back to finish the job off.

There's a pretty good motor museum.

Not too far away is the Snowdome at Tamworth for anything snow related. There's also a castle worth a visit.
Roads out of Coventry use A45, A452, A 446 then A 4091 out of rush hour quite a straight quick drive. For a very windy road aim for Meriden taking the Maxstoke road, Packington Lane, New End Rd, Castle Lane. Right turn on to Church Rd then left at the major junction on to Tamworth Rd. At Kingsbury A51 straight into town. Agree with previous poster that Moter museum is worth a visit. If you have exhausted Coventry and don't want to drive jump on the train.

Coventry's motor museum is a must, Kenilworth has a decent castle with walks and stuff.

Is it day's or evenings you're looking to fill?

Currently having an authentic Chinese lunch in Han Dynasty and then off to the Motor Museum this afternoon. I'll decide on tomorrow, tomorrow - are the canals interesting?

As has been suggested, the motor museum is good. Coombe Abbey is nice if the weather is good. And errr, it is easy to get into Birmingham.

What do you want recommendations on? I live here, so can give you some pointers.

It isn't really that bad.

If you're interested in Canals, yes. There's a flight of locks @ Hatton (park @ the Hatton Arms) then you can walk into Warwick or up to Hatton Country world.

Kenilworth Castle is great for a few hours of history stuff.

Sounds like my sort of thing, one for Saturday on the way back. Thanks.

You can walk up the canal to Sutton Stop - the pub there is nice. The memorial park is good for a walk around, Earlson is nice too, there are more independent places to eat there.

Sutton Stop sounds a good idea, I'll see how energetic I feel tomorrow.

The country park at Combe Abbey is nicer for a walk than the canal, but you'd need to drive there.

The Cape of Good Hope pub is alongside the canal in Warwick, nice pub and sometimes has live music at the weekends.
