Go online and book Airparks at Grove Rd, Slip End. Fly from Luton lots, always use them.

Allow plenty of time, there was a lot of construction going on earlier this year, and getting to the terminal wasn't the work of a moment...

Of course, this might have finished now!

It might be cheaper to park in the station car park and get the shuttle bus to the terminal. Just check the bus is running when you get there

It's an utter sthole.
Currently a building site too so a long walk with luggage. Not good if raining
Loads of people always sleeping the night around the check in area
Baggage / check in not opened in time or early if big queues to clear the massive backlog.
Lots of annoyed passengers.
Lots of big drinking in the departure lounge
So little time after getting through security to gate.

Would never go again it's hell.

Good luck.

To contrast the above a little... having used LTN many times over the years:

It's cheap. So don't expect BA/T5 levels of "luxury".
Queues at security seem to be the main issue. £3 for fast track is usually money well spent.
If you book in advance, short stay parking is reasonably priced.
Seating airside is at a premium though, but not much worse than many other airports.
Yes, roadworks have been a pain.

Might be easier to catch the train. Luton Airport parkway is the station.

Used it many times. Not wonderful, but many people overstate any problems they find. As already mentioned above, simply book into Airparks.

Take your own clear bags for liquids. You can buy them at the scanners but only with correct change.

I made the mistake of expecting them to be free and plentiful at scanners and didn't have correct change. Chap suggested I walk up and down the security queue asking people if they have change for £2 coin.

Parking at the station is a good idea - was cheap for me and not for from terminal. A few mins in taxi.

To be fair what I saw it was full of chavs and that's being generous

Good call on both counts. Not left a car in the station multi storey for a while but was always OK when I did.

Charging for plastic bags... only time I got caught out it was 2 for £3. Out of order IMHO.

Slightly annoying to throw away aftershave only to buy it again in duty free 15 mins later!

Be happy that you got a good deal because Luton Airport currently is a living hell. Just a giant building site with the same determination to create a dystopian vision of the future. The main arrivals and departures buildings have been knocked down.

Leave plenty of time to arrive - traffic is horrific. Park in the mid term carpark as it is easy to walk to. DO NOT go to the long term carpark unless you want a bus journey that can take 30 minutes if the traffic is bad (despite normally taking about 5 minutes).

Ensure all liquids are within a proper clear bags and pay the £3 for fast track security.

Have a great holiday though !

I use it a lot and experience is better than my recent experience at Stansted.

Have to admit I come straight through security and straight into Aspire lounge.

I use T5 a fair bit and Luton is diabolical

I use Luton airport 15-20 times a year and find it no problem at all. If you book the onsite valet parking at least a week before it's one of the cheapest options. In the last two weeks I've flown out of gatwick, Orlando, tampa and key west, and only key west was a better airport experience

Yep,I'd agree with all of that. It's a toilet.

Busy. Building site. Nowhere to sit. Nowhere to relax. Parking nightmare. Full of chavs going on all inclusives. Usually delays. Security is slow. Check in is slow.

Makes flying from Heathrow 5 seem like an absolute dream.

Don't be tempted by Short-Term parking.

The ST car park is currently a building site with fences, very narrow spaces, HGV's aplenty, and obstacles everywhere.

Head for mid-term and get the bus
