Luton Airport - 1st time
Discussion
Luton Parkway station car park beats them all.
Not only one of the cheapest - especially during the weekend but also no need for idiotic booking, phoning, meeting some people, giving them reservation
codes and all this nonsense.
Drive, park, take a card, get on a bus (always there) and 1.5 miles you are at the terminal.
(This is probably the best advice you have been given about parking there)

Thanks to all those who recommended Luton Parkway.
I was running late very, very late and the shuttle bus just happened to be their as I ran out of the multi-storey car park! It takes 5mins or so to get to the airport - and this was at the start of evening rush hour.
Bus fare for return ticket is £3.
Parking Thursday to Monday cost me £23 - last month parking at the Long Term Car Park cost £42.
I can't recommend this service highly enough. There's going to be new monorail service so those prices won't stay for long after the monorail is completed?
Edit: Tip for those new/unfamiliar with the area. If you're worried about which junction to use it is signposted - just follow the rail symbol which is intended for Luton Parkway train station.

Thanks for this info! We will be arriving at 3am so should be quiet enough. Luton Airport - 1st time
Any tips would be great!!
Make it the last time.Any tips would be great!!
Where to start?
- Pay for trolleys
- Pay for clear plastic 'liquid' bags
- Dreary décor
- Long walks to aircraft stands
- Long taxi runs given the size of the airport
- Only one lounge available (though it has been refurbed recently)

The buses are every ten minutes between 0500 and midnight, outside those times I think they coincide with train arrivals - check on realtimetrains (it shows the bus services) - we arrived early once on a Sunday and had to walk up Edited by essayer on Tuesday 20th December 17:12

Does seem that Luton has got worse over the years. The first time I ever used it was flying to Geneva Airport, probably sometime in the 1990s. Drove in, parked up within a few mins walk of the terminal, straight through, checked in and into security and departures in minutes and having something to eat while we waited. It was like a little island airport or something back then.
