Can anyone help please?

A group of 6-8 of us are wanting to get our Supercars transported to say Monaco, to then have a blast around the French Riviera for a few days.

Has anybody used a covered transporter company that they could recommend? What is the rough cost? I've heard it can be up to £900 per car return.

Amy recommendations of companies/ sharing of experiences would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Moving 6/8 cars will be quite a task as most movers don't have the capacity
You could try the various websites for ex-pats and the magazines.
Try the motorsports section or the French forum here (bottom of the page).
Could try the companies that arrange tours for classics.

Sorry no contacts to help I only know of single trailer companies so you would need to co-ordinate 6/8 different transporters.
Other options, Auto train from Paris but you have to get your car there and collect it at the other end.
Ferry to Santander Bilboa and drive across the Pyranees.

Bung me a tenner plus petrol and I'll drive it down there for you.

I think you need to be looking at companies that do relocation, they're the ones who transport several cars in one go. This is the cheapest way to do it (and <1K each way is cheap) but the catch is that you have to be flexible on delivery date. It may work for you though, since you have several cars going to the same place. We transported the Carrera GT down to Monaco and back last August, we simply didn't have time to drive it each way, and that was the cheapest way to do it. We didn't use this option since we needed the car to be there on a specific date.

Just as a side note, I wouldn't bother again. They've installed lots of HUGE speed bumps in the villages along the coast and Monaco itself is a nightmare. Loads of kids with cameras on the entry into the tunnel, one of them fell into the road right in front of us, it's chaotic. Plus we got told off by the police for making too much noise in the tunnel. The best driving bits were found by heading out of the towns and into the hills.

We normally drive down as the French toll roads are excellent.
I have considered the car transporter train but not checked the price.
I had my Tuscan convertible shipped back once and the nice car above dripped oil onto my canvas lid for a few days. frown

Thank you chaps. Im looking into getting the cars transported as it keeps the mileage down on them & we then get to use them on the better roads as opposed to unnecessary motorways/ toll roads.

Found a couple of companies so doing some more investigating.

Thanks

There's a Shmee video where he transports the 675LT, FF and (I think) JWW's GT3 on one trailer earlier this summer. If you found the video the company's name is plastered on the side of the tow car. Perhaps they can help, or at least offer 3 of you a solution.

To get economies of scale, you'll need a multi-car HGV transporter. OnTime, BCA Logistics and Paragon Automotive would be the first ones I'd try. And I imagine the latter 2 would work out cheaper IF they can do it.

We just placed a listing on Shiply. We took 6 cars to Vienna to do an Eastern Europe tour via a car transporter in 2012. From memory, it was about £800/car.

It was a private contractor. Did a great job. The cars were even cleaned and collected/delivered door to door.

Bonhams use CARS (Classic Automotive Relocation Services) to move their stuff around iirc.
