Hi
As the title says does anyone have any recommendations for yearly travel insurance for pre existing medical conditions.
Only European cover needed.
thanks

I'd just look at the price comparison sites, you can enter all the pre-existing stuff there. Once the results pop up, compare by price and Defaqto rating.

I booked once for someone using Explorer Travel, reasonable prices lots of pre-existing conditions but unable to comment since nothing bad happened

i have been with these a few years pretty good rate for me, cancer, heart attack and not long since had a i.c.d fitted. it does help if you put i.c.d rather then i.e.d whistle

fingers crossed not had to make a claim so i can not comment on that side .

It will depend on what the pre existing conditions (PECs) are and the attitude of the insurers to them.

My wife and I are frequent travellers and always have insurance. Our PECs are around past hip operations, arthritis etc, ie typical issues for older people. We do not have anything more serious to declare. We've used Staysure in recent years. Based on our experience it might be best to call them rather than try to fix up online, depending on the PECs.

Yup, my son has medical issues and family annual travel insurance ranged from £1000 yr to £250 yr after shopping around. (Without conditions used to be £100)

It's a pain but just shop arounbd.

I have found annual cover unobtainable through comparison sites, but trip cover perfectly reasonable (e.g. couple cover for £34 with £5k of cancellation - basic policies cheaper).

AllClear travel insurance.

Tried these guys after many hours of searching in the past. Can't praise them enough, my wife had an un-diagnosed condition (at the time) and as a result was declined by every company we tried. Allclear covered all her other conditions (too many to list) but obviously excluded anything that could be linked to her symptoms in the event of a claim, which I felt was absolutely fair. Got annual cover immediately and after her diagnosis managed to get renewal with worldwide cover (incl US and Caribbean) for a late fifties couple with 10+ PE conditions between us for £350.

Renew each year with Allclear. Quite straight forward application. Haven't thankfully had to claim anything (yet) but will report back if I do.

I renew annual insurance with Insureandgo, cover for Europe which includes winter sports.
Excess premium for heart condition (AF) was only about £30 so well happy.

Great premiums, but try claiming....I won't post details to avoid the post being deleted under naming and shaming but you find out who the good and bad insurers are when you need them.

Given recent regulations not sure if they still exist, but might be worth looking at the premium (gold/Platnum/ultra special) current accounts. Had a six figure claim in 2010 and no 'pure' insurer wanted to quote me, the banking types were happy that claims history was irrelevant. Additional benefit was lounge access, mobile insurance etc

To give a balanced view, I was in the unfortunate position of having to claim from the aforementioned insurer. I expected more the worst, but all medical, accodation and travel bills were setteled without quibbl. My excessive iTunes, food delivery and mobile internet bills we're more of a discussion and not all was covered. So I guess it depends if you're looking for fr a safety net that covers 99% or the remaining 1%
