I've had it done at Manchester. Just went to the exit gate and pressed the button to speak to an operator. They had a permanently roving AA or similar van who was there in a few minutes.

I've left my car for 3 weeks and it started just fine, are you expecting it to fail?

They did for me in the long stay car park once, it was probably 6+ years ago though, so I don't know if they still do.

Would it be worth buying one of those small power pack thingies? Lidl were knocking them out at about £30 last week

I would be very surprised if it failed to start. Three weeks is no time at all for a modern car with a presumably healthy battery, even in mid-winter. My 53 year old Riley usually starts after four or five months over wintering, I sometimes don't go near it from October to March. Buy a cheap mini jump starter if you're concerned. I have one 'just in case' but use it more to start other cars than my own.

I had this issue(left interior light on) at Heathrow earlier this year and the staff had a jump start pack in their van.

If a managed car park I would expect Stansted would have the same as with the number of vehicles it must be a regular issue

What will be the total cost of your holiday? £1K,£2K ? a good battery will cost about £100.
If the battery and charging system are in good condition don't worry.Any doubts, fit a new battery, simple.

Happened to me at Stansted Long Stay a few years ago (dodgy earth strap on a Clio)...

No sign of anyone around to help, but the missus of the time did a sterling job of pushing the car up to the required speed to crank the engine...somewhat took the edge off our last romantic break together though! biggrin

would a hire car be cheaper than 3 weeks parking ? Thrifty (although not on site at Stansted) do one way rentals for upwards of £30, although it does depend on car and start location.

How new is your car? These days a lot of models have a hibernation mode they go Into after a week or so to save the battery. Hence remote unlocking stops working etc. I'd be amazed if 3 weeks caused a problem. 3 months and you'd still probably be ok

Happens all the time I reckon. It happened to me at BHX and an attendant was quickly to the rescue.

I've seen roving AA guys.

One year I did suspect my battery wouldn't last so threw in a set of jump leads and blagged a jump from someone who was in the same car park as me. In turn someone saw me and asked me to jump their car

Most have a junpstarter lying around.

Fully agree with a post above though, those pocket jump starters are fantastic and for £30 just stick one in the glove box. Yore not going to have a problem starting though in my opinion
