Tokyo in November
Discussion
How long are you there for? If for more than a week i would suggest looking at a japanese railpass, which you would need to purchase before you go, and travelling a bit.
Do not think about driving massively complicated, you would need an international driving license as well which is about £5.50 from post office but seriously ive driven there once in the mountains that was enough for me and i live there a few months a year!
Check out g3orges (poss typo) tour of Japan as covers most things and if i remeber correctly covers Tokyo.
Ive only spent a small amount of time in Tokyo and stayed at the Prine Shinagawa hotel and i would prefer to get fanta up my nose than stay in there again! The Hilton with the funny roof near tokyo tower is supposed to be very good.
If you have time to tour i would recommend, kyoto, hiroshima, nara, possibly Beppu if you like hotsprings.
This would give you sights such as Todaiji temple, which is the largest wooden structure, the golden temple, and the peace garden in hiroshima.
Definitely do shibuya in tokyo, which is just crossing a road but video it as its mental. Go to the sony store which is just vast and was at least when we went full of robots. Try and take in a sumo tournament but you will need to book tickets well in advance.
Bit rambly but hopefully helps a bit
Edit, found the link.

I responded to this thread, it covers all of Japan not just Tokyo but is still worth a read:

EDIT: P.S. Is that offer still going on or has it ended? I can't see anything on Qatar Airways twitter.

Many thanks for the replies. In terms of the flight deal, a travel blogger (headforpoints) tweeted the price and dates but to be quick as there was limited availability. Luckily I read the tweet and booked soon after. There are still sale fares but nothing like as good as the £550 deal. It could have been even cheaper if I had used the Visa promotion for a 10% discount!
