This. And go hear for the lunch. Walk down the main hill thru the village and turn right where the wee fruit man is. You'll also walk past an absolutely mint gte nova in a car port. We go at least twice any time we're in Tenerife. The views are spectacular.

I like the one 20m down the cobbles on the right away from the top .. Can not remember what it's called, lovely patio with the best uninterrupted view if you get a table by the edge

However, it's mentioned earlier in this thread, but Masca is the most glorious place on the island ... You can get bus trips there, but the drive is worth it for scare value

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread OP. We're going to Tenerife in April for a group holiday. Depending on number of people and budgets I was looking at these two hotels. I'm hoping to cater for everyone, so if they want to chill by the pool/beach they can. Want to hit the bars it shouldn't be too far a walk.

Hopefully these hotels are in the not too noisy/busy sides of town. Anyone been to either?

Location wise 2nd one. No experience of it and never been it but know where it is, which is right on the front. No issue finding a bar there are thousands of them.
Although the 1st one isnt that far away. Been past it hundreds of times on the bus and never realised how snazzy it looks inside as it don't look anything special from outside.
Concluding either should be fine depending upon price. We go mid April for 2 and a bit weeks.

The Tigotan has had a refurb. It used to be called the Noelia Sur which wasn't too bad a few years ago.
Area is good as it isn't far from the beach.

The other place I haven't stayed at but the location is good.
Plenty of bars and restaurants in the Safari Centre.

Have a look at Parque Santiago apartments too which are in that area. They get a good rep on the Tenerife facebook page I am on smile

Las Vistas beach is nice.

Be careful if you go up mt Teide ,asthma and heart conditions may cause you problems, the air is thinner up top ,and you could get into breathing difficulties
I have had some heart problems at found it difficult and almost distressing whilst up there and having reached the top had to sit it out, while OH went on

And it will be around 8-10 degrees near the top in March so take jacket/fleece etc, where it could be near 30 near the coast so its a big shock if you're not prepared. Its 2.75 times higher than Ben Nevis after all.

We stayed in a Parque Santiago apartment, and can confirm it was a nice place to stay, and right on the sea front.

Has anyone ever applied for the permit to go up to the top of Tiede?

I'm really tempted, but in my mind I can stand at the edge looking at lava - am I going to be disappointed?

You need to apply for a permit in advance and book your date with a 2 hour climb window:

Easier than it used to be as you used to have to go to Santa Cruz and get a pass in advance. If the cable car isnt running (and is doesnt failry often due to the wind) then you wont be going up.
We want to go but missus had knee op last year an dthe other one now aint great so we'll have to wait. Benn up on the cable car 4 or 5 times and been up 20+, last time at night which was spooky to say the least but the stars are fab.

But can I see Lava if I'm allowed to trek the final bit? This is what I must know!

Well you cant get any higher other than in a helicopter. Should be able to see in the crater but lava, who knows. I've seen it smoking from Adeje a few times in the past but not in the last 4 or 5 years, thankfully. Last eruption 1909 but Octobr 2016 there were lots of mini earthquakes. I was out 4 weeks in December but didnt see or feel anything and we did go up one night to see the stars - very creepy.
