Fair play, but I was honestly curious why/when this new trend came in. Does the 'stag' stump up the total cost, or does each guy pay his own way?

On the stag do's I've been on, we have paid extra to cover the stags travel / accommodation / food.

Same here the other guests spread the cost of the stags accommodation etc, I have been on countless stag do's in the U.K and by the time you pay for 2 nights in a hotel, activity and funds for 2 days worth of food/drink it actually works out cheaper to have a weekend in Poland, Czech, Hungary etc
