Hello!

Theres a couple of cars i'm interested in buying; both of them are more common in Automatics, and both i'd be looking at swapping to become manual.

How does it work with insurance - my initial thought was that if I swapped in a manual gearbox, informed the DVLA, and then got insurance, surely it would be as a Manual vehicle at this point. If so, do I need to declare this as a *modification*, or does the fact its insured as a manual now count?

The parts would all be OEM parts, as a manual version would have come.

Would I need to declare it as a modification?

i'm guessing something jap with a 2JZ at the end of the box, still a modification despite what DVLA have down, not as built,

most specialist brokers deal with this day in day out though so shouldn't be a problem

One of them is, the other is something rather more sedate. (1.3 Auto)

Yeah I assumed it would be a modification but thought i'd see. Ta.
