US Best Uk credit card and best US phone sim

What is the best UK card to use over in the US to minimise cash advance charges and exchange rates

As my current UK provider allows me 600 mins that can be used to phone any UK number at no extra cost,but will rip a leg off should i use it to ring a US number, what is the best US sim only pre pay one to get hold of?

I'm not in a position to comment on the credit card side of things as I live in Germany.

On the phone side I would suggest getting a tracfone PAYG sim (link here). $15 will give you 200 minutes, 500 texts and 200MB of data. You should be able to pick up sim and top-up cards at any large grocery or drug store.

If you want unlimited data then T-Mobile (link here) does some good plans (although they can be pricey compared to the UK). $40 will get you unlimited texts, calls and data - with the first 3GB at LTE speed.

Go with a 3 '30 day'contract, start from £24 with 200 minutes, all you can eat texts and 12GB data(limited abroad)

All of their contracts come with 'feel at home' which means all of the above is included in the USA, simply take out the contract, and cancel the following day, have done this many times in the past

Three Feel at Home is also available on 3-2-1 PAYG. no contract needed:

I've got a three phone on contract and I have a PAYG for the wife, both work well in the US for free. Internet is ste on them though, very slow and in Florida it only works on AT&T.

For credit cards, I've got a Nationwide CC who do a fee free card, Halifax do one too. Check our the money saving expert website.
