I've got an overseas trip for the first time in years in a week or so. Only 3 days but involves a plane flight and I'll need to have some business casual clothes at the other end which means I can't get away with stuffing things in a holdall or in the back of the car as I do here in the UK.

Any suggestions on something that is decent but won't break the bank and leave me looking homeless when the contents come out at the other end please?

Somewhat surprised that going on Amazon and searching "suitcases" seems to throw up all kinds of "trolley" cases but not so many what I'd call a suitcase.

This looks good. Looks perfect for a suit too. Be quick as there is only one available.

I'd probably look in tkmaxx for something you like the look of. Or maybe something like antler? Some of the outlet villages have suitcase shops. I travel for work and have a few cases. My samsonite handle broke from the case just toppling over and started to split on the side very quickly, that is despite me loading my own luggage into cargo bays. Some guys on here spend many hundreds on cases but cargo bays and baggage handlers aren't forgiving.

4 spinning wheels are nicer to push around but are seen as more fragile. I'd still personally go for a 4 wheeler in hard case.

We bough some hard shell 4 wheel spinner but made sure it came with catches/clasps rather than zips. Limits the choice a bit but zips seem fragile. Made sure it was TSA compliant.

Samsonite from a well known high street vendor. Not cheap but then the last hard shell with clasps I have has only been relegated to the attic because the wheel rubber wore off and being 1992 vintage, I think it served me well.

Had my Victorinox cases for 12 years, and they still look superb and perform faultlessly.

Had my Briggs and Riley suitcase over 25 years, much travelled and looks as good a new. Has a lifetime guarantee. Expensive outlay but proved its value.

It's 3 days, and you're not a frequent traveller by the sounds of it... get to your local luggage store or dept stores (Debenhams, M&S, JL, etc.) and see how large a case you'll need. You don't need to spend a fortune, so you're not looking at TUMI or Rimowa prices for your rare trips. smile
