Hi. Long story short, I'm staying with a mate for a few days in Manchester and have a free day with him on Friday and wondered what we could get up to? Unfortunately he recently lost his wife and is definitely not at the 'coke and hookers' stage of his recovery, plus we need to drop his son off at school at 9am and pick him up at 3.20pm so need something to fit in around that - preferably not gallons of booze, although a nice leisurely lunch wouldn't go amiss.

Any ideas?
