You mean Toronto not Vancouver I think
And underground malls is Montreal I think biggrin
It is Toronto. Montreal has Poutine which is far more exciting.

Montreal, but Toronto may have them too smile
Well ain’t that something, I stand corrected. Toronto does, it’s called the PATH.

What’s funny is that I completely missed it when in Montreal, too busy eating poutine and getting hideously drunk.

As somebody said to me in the American one recently: "Oh, is there a Boston in England? I didn't know that!". "Yes", said my wife "& there's a New York, too!".

OP - did you look at the typical weather? You might be lucky(ish) but it could be brutally cold.
Yeah aware that may be a touch chilly but I’ve got a two week window where my annual leave and my son’s match up (I get allocated a/l which is a faff to change) so we’re kinda fixed on those times.

Thanks for all the ideas so far. Keep ‘em coming!

Watching with interest as also planning a few days in May or June in Boston.

I've been to Boston USA four times (two on business and two on holiday) and to be honest I've always struggled to get excited about it.

There are good food markets, the docks are ok and it's interesting to visit Harvard, but the city is mainly 'we're Irish and proud' which is a bit tiring if you're English and have been to the actual Ireland.

Whereas in New York you struggle to visit all the iconic places, in Boston it's a struggle to find enough.

Salem and Cape Cod are great places to visit if you have the time.

Forget the below... we tried moving flights but it would have cost £300 in penalty/taxes and this was also downgrading to Economy. As a result not something we felt we could justify paying.

Bumping this as I'm off to Boston in about 10 days for a very short work thing.

I'm regretting the time I have dedicated to the personal part though.

Arrive: Friday midday at Boston airport
We then have half of the Friday, all Saturday and all Sunday
Monday we have to check-out and get a one hour taxi to another hotel outside Boston for the work thing.

I kind of feel that 2.5 days isn't enough and wondering if I should increase this to 3.5 days by getting there a day earlier.

Any thoughts?

It depends. How intense a schedule are you happy to have and how much do you want see? It’s a pretty compact city so if you just want to wander the freedom trail, see the tea party stuff and have a gander around the north end then you’ could do all of the above in a day. I would say 2.5 days is enough to do all the key stuff. It’s not worth paying hundreds to gain that one extra day to my mind.
