Hi all.

Is it compulsory to have your middle name on flight bookings?

Is just given name, and family name ok for boarding aircraft?

Anyone been turned away and denied boarding because the middle name in passport, is not on the flight booking?

Best to have your ticket match your passport.

I had to pay to have my ticket changed once because it was in the shortened form of my name eg Dave/David

Thanks.
We have no name shortening.
Just not included middle names on booking.
First names, and surnames match %

Thank you for that information.
I hope sense sees sense and I dont need to do 3 name changes, just to add middle names.

Not compulsory to have your middle name. I left it off from thousands of flight bookings without issue.

Never even occurred to me in 50+ years of flying to put my middle name on a booking.

The standard policy of lots of corporate travel agents is to always put the name exactly the same as the passport you send them.

First and last name must match passport exactly, no need for the rest.

I've probably done 100-200+ flights on dozens of airlines over the last 30 years and have never added my middle name on a booking.

This is what we have learnt these past few days.
Even it the stupid Opodo website aks for "second surname" it actually means middle name.
We dont have a "second surname"

Airline were very good and corrected our 3 passengers by putting in our middle names for free.
Thumbs up for Hainan Airlines ,(Chinese airline)
