This thread has just motivated me to book a night in Hartwell House this evevning

OP - they are doing some good deals if you want to go this weekend (and some other weekends as well). Offered me a suite for 30% off rack rate, so I'll be trying it out tonight!

Another thumbs up for the handpicked group, have stayed in a few of them, each time they have impressed. And i feel they are very good value too.

I'm thinking of treating the wife to a nice overnight stay in a quintessential English country house and nice meal (+breakfast). Budget is around £600 all in for the two of us.
Within 2-3 hours drive from London.

Any ideas?
So....where did you wind up, and was it any good?

I didn't really enjoy it there. Personal preference I know.

thread resurection!

as an alternative to a week abroad I think for similar costs 3 or 4 nighhts would be great - The wife does not like to be away from the 'orse for too long - also I would like to use the TVR now that it will be 'on the road' following a rebuild (S1 - 1988) - slightly noisy so would think no further south than Oxford (last years week away and thoroughy enjoyed)

Please keep the recommendations coming.
