I can't find anywhere that might have extremely last minute holidays. Lastminute.com isn't last minute enough! I literally want to leave from an airport within a reasonable driving distance of Bristol and have 3/4 days in the sun. I don't even care where I go, so long as it's not a stag-do/18-30 type place. Many moons ago we had teletext but there doesn't seem to be anything like that now. Is it worth going to the travel agent today and asking what they have? Would I even get a good deal if I went to Bristol airport (20mins drive away) and asked there? We took the week off to go to Cornwall but it's forcast rain now. Help... I have a grumpy wife!

Excellent, I'll check them out and see if there is anything. Any thoughts about turning up at the airport?

Honestly, try your travel agents - with no plan of where we want to go we always use them as they suggest places we would have never thought of on our own - e.g. Corsica and Sri Lanka. Online is easier if you have something specific in mind.

Just decide where you want to go and book a flight .
Sort accomodation when you are there.

Thanks everyone for your help.
We've given up, I couldn't find anything suitable on the web and a call to the travel agent only resulted in one holiday that was ridiculous for a last minute deal.
We're going to go Cornwall as we planned but go 'glamping' instead in a camping hut type thing. Should be better in the rain than our tent.

It always rains in Cornwall, just look at some of the plants that grow there. It's the first landfall some of the clouds get to meet. I've been several times and had a weeks worth of rain. I'll never go there again.
