On the stability stakes - do you think I would risk £40k of my own money if I didn't expect Marcos to be around for a long time?

Also, as noted by GB, the car he drove is the "development mule" and as such is still a bit raw.

I've just got some latest pictures of mine from the factory and to say the car looks wonderful is the understatement of the year.

For me this goes straight back to the good old days of the Griffith from TVR, but so much more refined.

As some of you may know, production car 001 is mine and is on it's way to the Motorshow from May 29th onwards, so if you want to see it pop down. My first trip in it will be a week long blat around the south of france, such is my confidence in the mechanicals and care that the thing has been built with.

Joust,

The blue one (I assume is yours) looks absolutely fantastic, I am sure you will enjoy the car.

IMHO this is what the Griff replacement should have been, about 1000kg, big V8 and loads of presence.

I also think the view from the drivers side facing forward shows a bit of AC Cobra in the front section.

Don't get me wrong, I REALLY want this to work, it's just given Marcoses history you never know what would happen.
As the sports car market seems quite bouyant at the moment, I think the timing is just right.

So not much different to the issues seen by the likes of Aston or TVR then...

Personally I wish Marcos all the best, and I sincerely hope this time they are truely here to stay. I still have a soft spot for the old Mantis (in the words of a friend of mine "the automotive equivalent of Linford's lunchbox" ) but I do like the look of the TS monikered (sp?) cars.

If I had the money I would be seriously torn between as TS500 and a Tamora...

How much is the TS250..? :countspennies:

I have always liked Marcos cars. Ever since I saw a supercharged Mantis in a Magazine. Well before I liked TVR and Lotus.

If I had the cash a Marcos would be on the cards for me. Maybe a Mantara? But the TS500 does look a little RX8/S200 from the front?

No?

Maybe it's just me.

Why do they changed the lovely Mantis and Mantara headlights for the fugly Peugeot ones? If it's not broken do not fix it IMO.

Put together the TS500 rear, the Mantis front and a rumble bumble V8 we have ...

Who are these Javelin people...if MARCOS can get hot R8 engines why can't TVR Power continue production?

How about a Javelin powered Tuscan for £40K?

When mine hits the road I'll have to take you out in it.
It's no TS500, but it's still a Marcos.

No, I see the same thing. But hey, is this a fine looking stunner or what?!
Javelin prepared Rover engine looks nice:

www.robbiegibson.co.uk/javelin.htm ?????

When I see Marcos' running up and down the track I xspect a huge 6 liter v8 . . . This indeed is a Chim / Griff replacement . . . assuming there is no other follow up.

Nice work Marcos!!!

To me, this is a totally indifferent design. I wouldn't really give it a second look. The TSO may look like a TVR but it is a far better design than the TS500, more substantial.

Good to see the old Buick engine still soldiering on.
