Hi LA, how's things?

I can't comment on prices for cars like these because I'm not a buyer or in that market place. I have no idea how it compares to the competition.

What I can say is that the lsx engine is a gem, well proven and still evolving. I think the prodrive connection should make the car handle well and I expect there will be more press releases. Thing is, nobody at tvr has latched on to this powerplant apart from factory interest in a couple of home brews.

What a lovely looking car. The only thing I don't like is the lights - the diagonal "slice", while I understand why they've done this design-wise, looks a bit "dodgy". Only a minor point though.

Went to the motorexpo today pretty much just to see this. I already liked it from the pictures but it looks absolutely stunning in the flesh. I couldn't stop drooling over it. Fit and finish seemed pretty good but i didn't inspect it very closely. The cabin was superb. Simple, elegant and clear. Entry was a bit tight (brushed my head against the roof getting in) but once i was in it was a perfect fit for me (5'11". Everything fell to hand perfectly and the switchgear had a nice feel to it. It felt like the interior of a 50k car.

Probably the highest praise i can give the Marcos is the fact that my wife couldn't care less about the Ferraris, Astons and Porsches, but she absolutely LOVED the Marcos. If we had the cash for it, she would have been just as ready to plonk down a deposit as me

Tony Stegglia seems like a pretty nice guy too. I just went up to him and introduced myself , and despite the fact that i didn't look like i was able to afford a 50k car, he still took the time to show me around the car personally and take my details for the future.

I did ask that question. They said they were tooled up and almost ready to start production. For orders taken at the show, they were expecting to deliver customer cars around October which i thought was pretty good.

Excellent - cheers, bud. Four months, eh... Gives me a few months to find some way of funding one and I can still have it for next Spring then. Looks like I've got some serious work to do...

Anyone know the lead time on an order for one of these puppies? Ignoring the fact it's this or a new house, it's looking like a sensible option...

Early 06 I think is the target if you order now as they took quite a few deposits (including mine ).

I'm just 6ft and sat in this yesterday. My head was touching the roof! Entry and exit was pretty tough as well. Cracking looking car though.
Dave (chief engineer) said that the seats aren't finalised and they are aiming to get more headroom with the finalised version as the ones in there have "ample" padding on the bum, and the seat is a bit too upright for most peoples liking.

When I told Tony I came from Croydon, he mentioned he sold one to a guy from Croydon a day or two ago (this was on Saturday).

Hows the TS500 working out? Are you planning to get rid of it when the GT2 arrives?

Ah.

TS500 is being changed to the GT2 so it's gone back to find a new home.

Whats the TS500 been like to live with? Everything ok or were there any niggles? How would you rate the build quality compared to Nobles/TVRs etc?

It was an "interesting" time. In fairness it was car number 001, and hence I went in with my eyes wide open to what that means.

Fit and finish is fine, most issues have been to do with air ducting to remove heat and engine mapping, and all of those have been addressed without complaint by the factory. The service has been excellent - picking the car up/dropping it off from home in the evening to fit in with me.

However, the TS500 is not a "nutty" car in the way that the GT2 is - it is more a lazy cruiser. I thought it might make a nice change to have something more relaxed, but found myself hankering after something with more grunt, hence the change.

To keep residual losses for both of us at a minimum the TS500 has gone back (and I secretly think Tony S might want to keep it for himself ) and I'll now wait until late Spring next year to take delivery of the new car as I don't need it over the winter months.

I'd happily recommend any of Marco's cars to anyone - when you meet the people behind it you have total confidence in their skill and ability, plus the service, given they are small, is just like Noble, personal, effective, and always fitting around you.

Unless yer the owners club making a factory visit.
In that case it would seem they couldn't give a flying one.
Cancelled at very short notice (again) even though people have hotels and ferries etc already booked.

As someone said on the marcos owners forum, this new company don't care about the older models, the current owners or even the look of the cars.
The new car looks like a TVR, its not being made in wiltshire and they couldn't give a stuff about existing owners.

This isn't Marcos, it is a startup car company that bought a name so they didn't have to generate one of thier own.

LS's Rock - It will REALLY give TVR a hard time.

BIG FAT Modern SBC - That Engine and almost TVR looks - (front is TVR - design that did not get onto Tusc - was on original motor show car - designer took it to Marcos.
