A very good reason why 80 year-old Grannies/grandads should not try for skydiving.

Why did the guy go when she was fighting so much?

A little hesitation aye, be in control but she looked terrified.

Even more so now i imagine!

The chance that they are not in possession of all their faculties and, throwing a wobbly (as demonstrated in the above mentioned clip). Also, the chance that they would not be strapped in tightly enough for fear of harming due to brittle bones/age, etc.

we'll have to disagree then LG, I imagine she was in full control of her faculties as she was, understandably, throwing a wobbly at the thought of being chucked out of a plane by a bunch of cowboys who had failed to check her harness was on correctly

Her harness would have been fine had she not doubled herself up in a ball. She caused the problem.

That said, they shouldn't have jumped when she was clearly having second thoughts.

A lot of those jumps were Red Bull sponsored. God bless you caffinated lunatics!
Also Travis Pastrana did at least two of them (the double backflip and the no-chute jump. Can't remember who did the Arc d'Triumph jump.) And finally, I could have sworn that Red Bull also did a jump similar to the Kittinger jump? In fact, a quick google reveals the details of the planned Red Bull "Stratos" jump:
