On board footage from Neil Tresslers debut race in Euro Racecar Nascar series. Its like a European version of Nascar for regular circuits as opposed to just ovals. Racing Nascar style cars with V8's seems a bit lively and almost like the V8 Supercars from down under! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV2pukQweOwA loose moment early, followed by a spin on the front straight!

TheHeretic said: Kind of but not really. ASCAR as far as I was aware had no association with Nascar. These are Nascar built racecars. I used to watch the ASCAR series at Rockingham and loved it. Until about the 1st corner, when they'd all pile into each other and dwindle the field down from 30 odd to 15. But it was awesome none the less. This series seems to be more focused on twisty tracks with right turns. I reckon it could be seen as a testing ground for an American series, like Sears point, but a whole series.

NASCARs have very little in the way of downforce over the rear wheels, sustained steering lock would result in powerslides around every corner. 'Proper' NASCAR track turns really aren't very tight.

I assume the "driver" won it in a raffle or something, and has never driven on a racetrack before?

Maybe research the driver first, Neil Tressler has been racing Pickup trucks for a few years. I believe he did a stint in the ASCAR series too. Try and remember this was a debut race. First time in a pack racing. There's bound to be some niggles with the setup meaning it'll keep him on his toes. Alternatively, look up inboard shots of NASCAR races, they may only be turning left but they are also always working keeping the rear end from sliding out.

What an F1 driver see's: http://www.wimp.com/driverracing/It's a single lap of Catalunya, but the position of the camera is very good I think, as it properly shows the drivers eye view. (I think it may be a little high, tiny bit, based on the view from the wing mirrors.)
