I had almost exactly the same response. One of the first dates I went on off match. Just after I texted how much I enjoyed the night and would really like to see her again. Oh and she tacked on "You're a really nice guy and someone will be really lucky to have you..." or some such crap. Where do they come up with this bks sometimes?

As for the sprak thing specifically, I think some girls on match set their sights a little too high. They have this long shopping list of features and personality traits and there has to be this increadible inital spark too! Men I think are much more simple, if they look like their pics and you can have a good time together then great smile

Try not to fall in the trap of liking someone lots before a date or two! And as Carthage (edit: well, her gran...)said, plenty more fish in the sea, and after my initial dissapointment, guess what - there were biggrin

That sounds a little bit like you'll settle for anything.
For me, as a simple man, if there's no spark then what's the point in wasting anyone's time...?
I'm guessing, but from a girl's point of view I'm assuming "no spark" can be translated into "I don't fancy you" or "I won't have a good time with you". I don't think women are that much more complicated or demanding TBH...

I also don't really understand how anyone can "like this one lots" in advance (or just after) a first date.

That's #1.

Number 2 is 'Watch this'

Number 3 is 'What's the worst that could happen?'

Definitely wouldn't settle for anything. But usually you have already decided if you find them attractive or you wouldn't be going on a date. You've already chatted lots on email / txt, found out if you have things in common, can chat easily etc. Then go on a date which to your mind goes very well, then they turn around and say something like that which can leave you feeling rather confused.

Sounds like that weird little poetry guy from the Undateables. Think he was called Cockwomble, or something.

My dead gran would say (before she died, obviously) 'Plenty more fish in the sea'.
it's quite a common phrase; hence the name of the website

That may be more to do with reading the situation incorrectly and mistaking someone being nice for signs of attraction.

Why didn't you call? Be honest, I need to know. You said you loved me.

On a serious note...

Nah, it just means she got carried away and was embarassed that she went so far so quick smile

hehe

Truth is the text never happened, neither of us got in touch again so I wouldn't know, nor was I bothered.

I did get the 'no spark' conversation from a very drunk South African late into the evening on the 1st date. I don't think you're meant to respond with 'well, obviously, so how about a fk anyway then?'. That one was a bullet dodged, she was scarily nuts and overly emotional.

Well nothing for over 2 years, then I get 2 interested in one night!

No.1 Dyed blonde, 38, no kids (and doesn't want any), attractive, really nice, am sure would be total filth. Downside is she's, at a guess, a size 14-16

No.2 Stunning brunette, slim, 33, 2 daughters, again really nice. Downside, she smokes.

Now on Sat, I gave my number to both, but kind of dismissed the brunette because I found out she smoked, and chatted to (and kissed) the blonde, also asking to meet up again. Forward to Sunday and I'm having 2nd thoughts on the blonde cos of her size and the Brunette has been in touch wanting to meet. I'm thinking I shouldn't have been so hasty to dismiss on the grounds of the smoking, plus I could get her to quit down the line.
Now the Blonde has been in touch today asking to meet up again, and I'm unsure how to handle letting her down without seeming a wker for making a u-turn from Sat night.

What would you do CB? hehe

Try both and go with whoever is dirtier.

I'd go with the fitter, younger one mate, just because hehe

That said, you could take the fatty and train her up.

Nail them both and give them marks out of ten, whilst critiquing compared to the other one. Then ask for a threesome.
