Was on my iPohne last night so couldn't put up hopelessly nostalgic pics of Tron and Defender. So here they are.

Oh, there was Track and Field too, which seemed to require the only skill of pressing the button really really fast to run! biggrin

I have a handheld games "console" (looks like a PS2 controller) with about 80 of these old games on it!

Has anyone mentioned computers/video/arcade games yet?
Asteroids... smile
Spent many hours in the local chippy playing this @ 20p per go

They had a tabletop 'scramble' in our local Truckers' cafe, until they got sick of all the school kids hanging out. And the Chinese family in the takeaway next door would always let you in and turn on the 1 or 2 machines they had - any hour of the day. Modern games without the vintage sound and smell of overheating cathode ray tubes and electronics just aren't the same!

Not to mention the stink of cigarette smoke, our local arcade had ash trays mounted on many of the machines which the older kids used to fill. Un-thinkable these days.

The appearance of Vow Wow on The Tube made my balls drop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AN_4rJ1J5c
Doesn't quite seem the same today - the old nostalgia ain't what it used to be thing I guess.

No way. In this case you're entirely wrong, JAYB.

Fair play to TVR1; the photo and the 'list' absolutely place you at 'living the dream' status for 1988 thumbup

Have we done global hypercolour t-shirts (minging) - Pepe Bell bottom jeans and Beanie Cricket Hats. '89 was the second summer of love - with the Stone Roses re-forming watch it all come around again!
