Hyper Hyper, trouble is it seems so long ago. Just sent a text sent to girlfriend at the time to see what she can remember seeing as it was her that took me there

Camden Market was great, Dingwalls on a Saturday night and I think it’s still alive and well

Sonic Boom Boy, of course but I’ll own up to some Zig Zig Sputnik as well
thumbup

I was more Bauhaus/Sisters of Mercy/Dr & The Medics/Bolshoi though quite enjoyed PWEI, GBOA etc in the second half of the decade.

My parents decided to buy a Betamax instead of VHS so I was restricted to the small shelf through the back of the local video shop frown

Could have been worse tho, my Aunty won a Video 2000 system in a competition - they got 6 discs free with it - I think those were the only discs they ever had biggrin

Those of you who had Grifters, did you ever get the seat wet in the rain - took about 3 weeks to properly dry out again!

1988 was a great year for me - got my first job, passed my driving test and bought my first car (Talbot Horizon, with chrome 8-spoke Wellers). Loads of house parties, great times.

Escort X-Packs - used to lust after the one in Arthur's lot in the opening titles to Minder.

Now for the embarassing stuff...

Wearing Grolsch bottle tops on my shoes..
Got a flat top, lasted approx 0.7 days as my hair was curly biggrin
Pepe jeans
Pin stripe jeans
Polonecks under denim shirts (thanks Rick Astley)
Mel & Kim
Curiousity Killed The Cat
...

My BMX looked exactly the same as that, it had yellow mags (wow!) and those crash pads for averting groinal trauma after an unplanned ballbag/crossbar interface

Saw them along with a bunch other 80's acts (Heaven 17, Human League etc) at the Here and Now Tour in Wembley about a decade ago, brilliant!

I was born in '83 (surprise!) so I suppose I was more of a 90's girl myself, however looking back at music/films/fashion etc, the 80's from what I car recall was much more fun!

I love my 80's films, and have 'film friday' where I like to pick a film on the ATV to watch with the children. Last week it was flight of the navigator, already having watched the Goonies, BMX bandits, batteries not included.... You get the idea, all the classics.
However I did throw in Pete's Dragon for good measure only to realise it's from 1977! Shocking!

Edit: I do not lick films.

This film licking...tell me more... I can feel a business idea brewing... could catch on in certain quarters!

Pepe jeans...
I liked Pepe because they were reasonably priced and they fitted and looked better. Ithought that they disappeared years ago, but I was amazed to see a pair in Harvey Nichols last year, for >£250 a pair!

I would say search for Belouis Some 'Imagination' and Art of Noise 'Close to the Edit' for slap bang 80's.
Oh and this too...

Flashback alert! I'd completely forgotten about those - I think these kicked off my key-ring collection....

I used to work in the freight forwarding business and we used to import these from China. You have NO IDEA how much money there is in those little plastic toys.... I beleive they still do the little toys, but maybe not in cereal packets. The last promotion I remember doing work on was for Muller Corners, but this was a decade ago now.
