The floorboards in my home are basically crap - they creak like mad over over the place - not helped by the fatc we had quite a few up to replace boiler pipes a few years ago.

I have an opportunity to have the carpets up in a few months and am considering just taking out the old wood and putting down soemthing better - I have spoke nto some bulder types in general passing and they think I am being a bit mental and should just nail in the problem floorboards but when we have a lot of people over in every room then it is annoying as you can hear lots of noises etc.

Would also be an opportunity to repalce the staircase which is even worse.

I have seen a flea posts on here where peopel have repalced floor when rennovating

My questions are

How expensive is it ?At a rough guess the area is 50 sqm (upstairs only and stairs)
What is the bets material to use? I see peopel using tongue and groove but this joins boards together which is not ideal if you want to take 1 board up, I premuse?
That's got to be genuine Dyslexia hasn't it?

It fascinates me that so many people will simply guess the spelling of such words, rather than take the effort to look them up. It's easy enough with right click- 'search with Google'.

When they were asked to wait outside they started with the who do you think your talking to sunny - from two lads bearly thirty.... Yeah politeness goes out the window. Im doing something here and your getting in the way - you are also exposing yourself to danger needlessly and you should for once listen to those that know what they are doing.

The riders here work the horses hard, go like the calipers, they don't wear fancy dress outfits. It's a totally different way of horse use.
Question...

What, exactly, do "calipers" go like?

Arrrrrgh!!!!

My 'Google Chrome' browser has decided to reset it's inbuilt spellchecker to "English (USA)" and flat refuses to let me reset it to 'proper' English, saying it can't be done rolleyes

Now when I type words like 'Neighbour' and 'Kerb' they appear with wiggly red lines under them, and the suggestion dropdown has the 'correctly' spelled alternatives 'Neighbor' and 'Curb'.

No wonder such duff spellings are becoming more and more prevalent rage

ETA: Realise. The blasted American spellchecker now tells me it wants a 'Z' in place of the 'S'. First world problems, I know, but I'm just trying to maintain standards here.

Does anyone know how I might successfully reset this contraption to 'proper' English?
