But he had the most pitch perfect voice ever since Mel Torme, both of whom can be listened to by those with the most sensitive ears and find no fault.
Like Torme he too could voice-tune a piano... that is frankly astonishing.
Home loving man is damned hard to sing, he did it perfectly.
Other singers of his era tried and you hear their faults.
If only he could have been persuaded to ditch the MoR and hit some serious jazz.
