You are probably right. But that "toddler" in the picture is nearly a teenager.

Interesting peice of journalism I was particulary intrested in the quote you highlighted above and the fact that he's mates with Denzel, hangs with music producers in LA 'just chillin' and i particularly enjoyed the use of the word 'gangsta' in his insightful motor racing column.

To paraphrase somone more eloquent that I - Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are a bit of a dick, than to open it and remove all doubt - or in this case commit it to print in perpetuity.
Do you not think that perhaps Lewis was referring to the time when he was a teenager, rather than when he was not much more than a toddler as in the picture?
You are probably right. But that "toddler" in the picture is nearly a teenager.
In that picture, he's 7. He was on Blue Peter.

He's 7 in that shot (it was filmed in 1992, he was born in 1985).

There are some shots around of a 12 and 16 year old Hamilton on Blue Peter, looking distinctly not gangster.

He's 28, he's banging one of the sexiest women in the world, he travels the globe driving F1 cars for a job, he lives in Monaco, he drives a Zonda.

But he has a tattoo and listens to music which Pistonheaders don't listen to, so this makes him a tt. rolleyes

Slow down a bit. Hero worship is a bit, you know.

As for the rest of it, spot on, he's turned into a tt. Such a shame, so much promise...smile

So that child is neither a toddler or a teenager then. I thought he looked closer to 10, hence closer to teenager.

From the gospel that is wiki: "A toddler is a child between the ages of one and three."

Its the fact he's wannabe gansta. You can tell in interviews that part of him really wants to be street, but the fact is he was brought up in a nice well off family with a supportive dad. That's the tttish bit.

I tried to read his column on the BBC F1 site this morning. What a load of drivel; he's trying to come across as normal, just an average person, when he very definitely isn't. Don't deny his pace in the car, he does have an amazing talent, but he does come across as a tt, albeit a damn fast one.

I wasn't making reference to that - more the fact that he seems so incredibly desperate to conform to some kind outmoded 'black guy' stereotype which seems more than a little incongruous when he's privileged kid from Hertfordshire.

It's almost Ali G like - and it really (IMO only) doesn't do him any favours at all.

Now as a middle class white guy I am hardly an authority on the subject - but I find it a little dissaponting that the first black F1 driver just wants to act like every other identikit wannabe rapper when there was a real and genuine opportunity to change the paradigm and move away from the stereotype.

Just saw this on a sailing website I frequent...nearly spat my coffee out! The boat is a foiling Moth, a 30 knot hydrofoiling design that is by far the quickest of all dinghies, and I've got one, and it's a serious amount of fun.

You don't normally sail it like that, it's American guy messing about, but someone please please please do the honours with the prancing Lewis in front of the sailor!!!!

They're amazing! Where do you sail it?
