The steel Arcan is a better, if not prettier, proposition than the aluminium one, but theyre both massively better and cheaper than anything in Machine Mart!
I had the steel Arcan jobbie but my garage got burgled back in April and it (along with every other thing that I possessed and cared about) was stolen All insured, however. But Costco only seemed to be stocking the aluminium jack which I thought looked a bit naff. I ended up getting one of these beasts which looks awesome!

I like Costco but I don't know why. I don't actually think many of their products are great (e.g the pizzas may as be made of salty cardboard) and some of the furniture, garden ornaments, christmas displays etc etc are such unimaginable tat you'd be hard pressed to find worse in a pound shop.

Because shopping in bulk is manly. Similarly, buying bulky things is manly. Makes you feel like you're preparing for the zombie apocalypse, which means you must be a badass of the highest order.
It's a complex concoction of ego, man maths and shiny things.

I know what you mean; there seem to be a lot of people who shop there who I suspect live in houses with gold door handles and fake stone columns, the women seem to have fake tans.Looket said:

Some things are just epically cheaper though. Nappies are half the price of Tesco. 8 packs of pitta bread for the same price as 1 in Sainsbury's. Lagavulin 16 for £35? Yes please.

And I swear a lot of things aren't that great value. You have to watch what you're buying. Fresh foods I often find are far more expensive than the supermarkets - although the meat at CostCo is generally much better quality.

This has always been the case at CostCo - you need to be extremely savvy about what are good deals, what are loss leaders, and what is overpriced. Some things are just epically cheaper though. The other thing to be very wary of at CostCo is the tech. Often they sell last year's model at just below this year's model's price and unless you know your model numbers (or check online before buying) then your deal can be worse than you think. Major case in point was CostCo's promotion on the GoPro Hero2 earlier this year at a price that you could easily get a Hero3 for online.

looking about it seems either john Lewis or Costco are the place to get a a Imac Pro unless Anyone can recommend a place
Generally the food produce is the cheapest and best quality you'll find.
I go bi-weekly for some meats and stuff. Electrical goods are a decent shout with the 5 year warranty they throw in. I've also never had a problem returning anything, they never question it just refund the money.
And if you haven't tried the chicken bake or the sticky toffee sponge, I'd recommend you do.

One of the reasons why I have taken my time looking for a Imac pro. Costco seems to have some good deals about sometimes and would rather deal with their Concierge Services which I have used and always been great compared to Apple who I hate dealing with.

Check the Apple Refurb store, there can often be good deals on there, and by all accounts it's indistinguishable from new. Another idea is education discounts - a lot of people are eligible and even if you aren't you will know somebody who is.looking about it seems either john Lewis or Costco are the place to get a a Imac Pro unless Anyone can recommend a place

The only way to get a good deal is knowing someone who's in Uni , 15% off plus £80 worth of i tune vouchers.looking about it seems either john Lewis or Costco are the place to get a a Imac Pro unless Anyone can recommend a place
