One of the reasons why I have taken my time looking for a Imac pro. Costco seems to have some good deals about sometimes and would rather deal with their Concierge Services which I have used and always been great compared to Apple who I hate dealing with.

The only way to get a good deal is knowing someone who's in Uni , 15% off plus £80 worth of i tune vouchers.
good heads up I know just the person

Ah, that makes more sense! biggrin

I did see a previous gen MBP (non-retina) in my local CostCo for around £400 under retail recently. Basically a second hand cost for a brand new machine.

I'd go for the retina display one though... cloud9

Has their burgers the other day, supermarkets beat them hands down.

Likewise their pizzas, fresh not frozen, were very boring, cardboardy.

Well, that's no reason to dismiss the entire store and every product they sell. As I said, you need to pick and choose wisely at CostCo.

Agree about the pizzas (though I find that to be the case with the majority of UK pizzas). Their fresh beef burgers are however streets ahead of any supermarket offering and I've been comparing for years (not so keen on the minted lamb ones mind!).

The big aberdeen angus burgers are great. You know they are good quality because they dont piss fat and catch fire on the bbq.

I just bought me one of these:

http://www.costco.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/co...

Don't need one, have never thought I should buy one, generally never crossed my mind but could be fun for what's left of the Great British summer.

I actually find them a bit dry.

quite so, I like the shop - their kirkland vanilla ice cream is lovely, as are the sticky toffee puddings. The ribs I love, and the cooked chickens. Nappies and baby wipes are super cheap.

I agree, they used to be really nice but the last couple of times have lacked any seasoning and are very dry and flavourless.

Had 2 lots last week and were excellent. Dry, probably, because the meat is very lean (hence why burgers need a good sauce). Definitely not flavourless, meat was excellent quality. Seasoning again, IMHO, for this type of food needs to be at a minimum as individuals have different tastes and a burger will take all sorts of different additions

That's what I mean, the meat is too lean. You don't want that in a burger.

Iv been going to Costco for 8 or 9 months now.

Always spend way to much money.

Went to there optician's on Saturday and very impressed. Had eye test and contact lens test. Ordered a new pair of ray bans with the ultra thin lens (very blind) and a 30 days worth of contacts and came to £280.

Just the frames on the high-street are £180.

Makro anyone?

Went and joined up at the weekend, since we moved house, we're much closer to Makro than Costco.

The food dept seems better in Makro, but that might wear off, it may just be that it's different.

Better selection of wine, proper fish counter, lots of fresh meat, well prepared. Veg maybe not as good though.

Bought approx. a metric tonne of scallops, prawns, and squid, along with some chicken and chorizo and had paella last night. And a big bag of duck feet for £2 that'll make some tasty soup.
Had been a Makro member until I found costco 5-6 years ago. Makro is closer to me but has gone downhill the last few times I went in

re the food part I just use Bookers for that.
