Well, part ex to clear is meant to mean they took it as a part ex, almost unwillingly and want to shift it on ASAP.

For example, if it were a BMW specialist that took a Mercedes from an enlightened convert, and wanted to get the Merc off their forecourt as soon as possible.
Sorry i probably should have phrased the question better,i know p/x means they took it in part exchange.
But arent ALL the cars on their forecourt/showroom floor (whether new or used from £500 to £50000 )there to be sold/shifted on ASAP not just the cheapie part ex's?
why use the term 'to clear' on p/x cars only?

I thought that cyclists should ride in single file only unless roads conditions allow? ie if on a tight country lane then its not really appropriate to recreate the TDF for example

To give punters the impression that they can get a real bargain - and they don't use it on all part-ex cars, just the ones they want you to think they want to shift quickly.

Psychologically, it's a bit like "new and improved", "for one week only", "up to 99% off" etc.

Can i ask two questions in one posting?
Why are the french words 'convoi exceptionnel' used on oversize loads on UK roads?
?
Those companies probably have a licence to operate in the EU and as part of the rules the trucks and trailers need to have certain signs/reflectors/flashing lights on and often an escort.

I'd imagine it's all part of UK legislation anyway.

why are flies/daddy long legs so eager to leave your house in the mornings? last night i noticed a daddy long legs on the outside of the toilet door. THe next morning i see the same one stuck between the window and curtains. I loosen the curtain and it darts upwards and out the window.

Might have been done before (not trawling through 900+ pages!)

Do the DSG/DCT/powershift clutches need replacing? I've often wondered that.

And at what point is someone quirky, and where's the line where they become batst crazy?

Think of it as the difference between Polarbert and TheTrash whistle

Why does the drip tray of our lean mean grillin' machine have this legend?

I've purposely - recklessly? - placed it in the lower rack, with no ill effects so far. Does anyone know why it is necessary for the manufacturers to add this to the tray?

It's either because the water pressure is a bit higher at the bottom, so more likely to cause damage or (more likely) that the heating element is at the bottom, so plastic items are more likely to melt if placed too close to it.

What happened to the Ford Transit that Sabine Schmitz drove around The Ring?
covered in rust, bombing up the m6 to a painter/decorator job
Crying quietly to itself,as it now has some fat, crack showing, builder's arse squashed onto it, when it once had Ms Schmitz' fine ass bouncing up & down on it

Plastic, cellophane stuff.

Why is it really hard to rip unless there is a nick in it, but once there is a nick in it it tears effortlessly?

Is it molecules or summat?

It's because when you've got a clean edge and you're trying to rip it the forces are all distributed every which way and go into bending and twisting and s**t but once you've nicked it you can concentrate your rippy forces into the small point at the end of the cleft, thus cleavage occurs.
So it's not quite molecular, otherwise you could make a molecule deep nick and that'd be enough to start it tongue out

I've no evidence to back it up, but I have a horrible feeling that it's either stuffed in a dusty cover of Ford's empire or been crushed - Vehicle Manufactures have a habit of destroying any of their goods that has seen any sort of action pre-sale, there is no "sold as seen" to them - it the choice between crushing a pre-raced Transit that cost them £4k to stamp out in production costs (I.E. not including R&D, design, marketing etc) and has earned it's money in PR back, or selling it for £15k or whatever and risk being sued for however much if it loses a wheel a 70mph, even if it's not remotely related to it's day at the 'ring, they'd lose.
