Eastern Europeans in recent history had far more access to potatoes.
Not in Latvia.
Fully expecting a whoosh parrot, but why?

Just done a google, and all it comes up with is loads of potato jokes, with no explanation of why that's the case...

After consuming beer/wine/tea/coffee, my pee smells of pee. After consuming soup, my pee smells of soup. Why?

They didn't, that's why they invented ladders.

In addition to diet points, they are generally far more "feminine" in the traditional sense. Especially when it comes to clothes, dressed up to go to the shops and not going for "comfort" with their onesie/ sweatpants.
Now, onesies are an abomination and instant turnoff, but sweatpants? lick
Although I'm not convinced by the validity of the original assumptions regarding women of any particular decent. Perhaps this view has been formed through over exposure to internet pornography?

To keep the programme schedules in order.

Without a three or four minute break, the programmes would bunch up leaving an odd time slot at some point during the day which would be difficult to fill using a standard timed TV show.
Out of interest, as I don't really watch TV and have never had Dave, Discovery or the like, what do they show in these gaps instead...a blank screen, test card, station ident?
Adverts, just like everyone else.

Maybe I'm missing the point but the answer above was in response to the question:

'Late at night, why do programmes on TV channels such as Dave or Gold continue to have breaks when they have no ads to show'

Implying that there are no ads. So I'm asking what do they show instead of ads.

If the deals are similar to radio, there will be an 'at least' promise - across different bands of time.

So advertisers will buy 'at least X plays in prime time per month, and 'at least' Y plays off-peak.

Well, Mr clever cloggs. If they didn't have ladders, how did that stuff get up there in the first place?

Ha!

Yesterday, I cycled over the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito. Here's a photo of the city skyline from said bridge.
