Did Paul McCartney fall out with Denny Lane ?
Denny himself seems to think not, but whatever the truth of it (which probably varies depending on the points of view of the parties concerned) they seem to have got past it now.

Interview with Denny here

Nah that's Denny Laine ... I asked if he'd fallen out with Denny Lane
Is it because the banker never wears a mac in the pouring rain? Very strange.

'Denny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes'. He didn't fall out with it, he wrote it.

There is currently a few adverts on telly with awful covers of popular songs on them.

So is it cheaper to make a rubbish cover using a session singer than to pay to use the original track ?

Why is it when you eat or drink certain things after having a strong drink then go back to drinking it.. it tastes harsh?

Last week I was drinking sailor jerry's on ice. tasted great, went down smooth. But then i had a slice of cheese & tomato pizza. from then on the drink tasted too harsh to me.

What ruins drinking something strong on ice so that I can be sure to prevent it in the future? What does well with drinking strong drinks so as to not ruin the taste (and keep it smooth)

Stick to the classic combinations and you will be alright.

Port and Stilton is the best one, but others are available.

I've only ever had port mixed 50/50 with whiskey.

Cheese isn;t much of a cheap nibble either. (depending)

At a guess thinking back to my uni days (7 years ago) it could be something to do with the North Atlantic Oscillation which is Europe and North Africa's equivalent of El Niño/La Nina.

Why does rotating the batteries in a remote control eke a bit more life from them?

The molecules inside the batteries pick up a bit of charge from being rotated in the Earth's magnetic field. If you spin them fast enough, you won't need to replace them at all. Shaking them is good too. It reinvigorates the chemicals.

Just renewing my passport...

Why is section 7 of the form 'intentionally blank' there must be a reason?! it seems so silly though to have a section then I am guessing it is due to formatting for the computer entry. I thought it could be for notes for the staff there but that has another section!

At a guess section 7 is probably used on new passport applications so when they copied and pasted for the renewals they just took the questions out but not the heading as they would have to change all the ones after.

If the human race is wiped out, except for, say 5 women and 5 men, is that enough to repopulate the world without having loads of mongs running around?
Mongs is a rather unpleasant slang term for Downs Syndrome. That's a condition that has nothing to do with the genetic closeness of the parents.
Is it? i picked the term as i didn't think it was attached to any particular condition. No offence meant.
Mong is short for Mongoloid/Mongolism which was used when I was growing up as a neutral (and, if I recall correctly, technical) description of those with Downs as they had features similar to the Mongol tribes. I guess it was deemed racist at some point (wiki says it became unacceptable in the 70s which I agree with), usage faded away and the use of Downs became the norm. In the 70s, I don't remember it being shortened to Mong to be used as an insult - that seemed to come later. As a result, oddly, I don't normally immediately associate the two, though they are one and the same.
Definitely not a term of endearment when I was growing up in the 70's. Very un PC by today's standards. There was even a song about it back then which you can't ever imagine would get any AirPlay these days.
